I always dreamed of modeling a fully detailed car.So by the encouragement of Lakmal Harischandra a fellow awesome modeler i started to model my favorite car audi r8 2007 4.2 fsi version it took about a year to fully complete it but i really enjoyed creating it.So just wanted to announce that its now on sale. You can go to the following link and find out more(click here).

Well when rendering if you have spare ram you can use this method to speed up your rendering.First of all I’ll describe what is a ramdisk?ramdisk like a normal hardware partition but it is created in the ram.

So how can this affect the speed of rendering?well normally the scene files and maps etc are on the hard drive so before rendering(processing) the data must be first sent to the ram and to the processor(sorry for not going in details because it will be more techy and i think you guys might will not like to read a computer leason :D) so we usually get a lag time because when the renderer needs the file it has to read from the hard drive and must transfer files back to ram.

Ok so what will happen if you could directly save the files in the ram?Yes i think now you guys must understand what i’m about the tell. What you can do is pack all the file you use in project to a single place(using archive save is a good method ,for more information on archive method check this out, sorry the video is done in sinhala)and copy it to the ramdisk and render it.

CAUTION-Use this method if you have enough ram and your render doesn’t exceed the your ram usage. And do not create insanely large ramdisks. At least you must have 4gb ram or more.

Next i will show how to create a ramdisk ,for this you need to download following application.Click here to download RAMdisk. The link contains the free version that only allows you to create ramdisks below 4gb.And after downloading it install the application. And follow the steps shown in the image below.

IMPORTANT-Check the Autosave on and choose a time period suitable to autosave (1/2 hourly etc).

Finally click Start RAMDisk and after some seconds this will create a new partition of the size that you choose.

Phew……. That ain’t hard right? πŸ˜€

So finally you need to do is copy the required files to new partition and open it from the new location and render you will see quite lot ofΒ  improvement in file loading and rendering. πŸ˜€

Well this method can be used for other things also πŸ˜€ you can use save cache files in the ramdisk and also simulations files for this you need lot of ram and be ready to give it out to ramdisk.

So test this method and tell me how much improvement you guys get πŸ˜€

k that’s about it see you guys in the next post πŸ˜€

When it comes down to listening to good music i usually prefer using a good inear headset because it mostly cancel out the surrounding sound,my very first experience in a inear experience was listening to headset of sony ericsson w300,this had too much bass ,well it was way too much.

And after that i bought Jvc marshmallow headset it looked funky but a delivered a good quality and clarity ,but because of my carelessness i screwed up one side of the speaker, well this usually happens in headset when there’s too much tension in the wire the connections get loose ending up hearing nothing. And beacuse how it was built i had no chance of repairing it also 😦

So i decided to go for a another headset ,and bought Denon AH-C360 well it was bit expensive than the Jvc one but really liked the clarity of the sounds ,and it also came with a carrying case πŸ˜€

So what kind of headsets do u guys use?leave a comment πŸ˜€

My dad gave me a book on manufacturing engineering to refer few months ago when i was going through the pages i find something really interesting and thought of sharing it πŸ˜€

Mind u that this was not drawn by me and credit goes to the original artist.
